Try:

die "Unable to connect: " . $DBI::errstr . "\n";
>
> my $sth = $dbh->prepare)"SELECT * FROM ADAACD");
-------------------------^
Parens wrong way round:
my $sel = $dbh->prepare("SELECT * FROM ADAACD");
Don't forget to add:
use strict;
This will assist you with error messages.
