I understand your point. After about a 2.5 year lay off I have started writing
PERL again. I started reading this list because I was looking to hone (and
possibly expand) my perl skills. I for one would be much more able to deal with
the traffic on this list if there were less questions that could simply be
answered by saying RTFF (read the F*@$! FAQ).
I used to read some perl list or newsgroup (I can not remember which) that after
subscribing you were sent an e-mail that would point you to the faq and state
that you should check the FAQ for your question before posting it. I thought
that was a great idea. I read that list both before and after that e-mail was
automatically sent and if memory serves we did get a lot less questions that
could be answered RTFF.
