Hi,

I am trying to use a script called VelvetOptmizer for optimizing assembly of
genome sequencing reads, which is part of the velvet assembler freeware.
This script uses modules 'threads' and 'threads::shared', both of which I
have installed. However, when I try to run the script, I get a message that
this perl is not built for threading. I assume I need to configure perl for
threading, but do not know how. At your convenience, can you provide
detailed instruction how to configure perl 5.12.2 for threading? I use a
Linux RHEL 5.5 64 bit 4-core machine. I posted this question to the velvet
users forum and was referred to the perl community by the administrator.

many thanks,

galeb
