Well, the indices for both _Learning Perl_ and _Programming Perl_ have
entries for "lists" too. The second sentence in the "Lists and Array"
chapter of _Learning Perl_ says "A list is an ordered collection of
scalars".

It's there. I think the complaint is unfounded.
