This is exactly what I wrote PDF::ReportWriter for. It supports grouping with headers & footers, aggregate functions, intelligent page-breaking ( can't make css do that ), images, lots of text formatting options, PDF templating, XML report definitions, etc, etc. http://entropy.homelinux.org/axis/ ( click on 'reports' at the top ).
