I have a mixed Windows/ Cygwin and Debian GNU/ Linux SOHO network and Ubuntu
GNU/ Linux web hosting accounts, and built a backup/ archive/ shutdown solution
using Bash and Perl scripts driving tar, gzip, and rsync over ssh.
