This person noticed that Adafruit_BBIO doesn't work when not root:

Issue seems to be:
open("/sys/devices/platform/bone_capemgr/slots", O_RDWR|O_LARGEFILE) = -1
EACCES (Permission denied)
Do we want to let normal users write to
/sys/devices/platform/bone_capemgr/slots ?
