Hello everyone,

I have not been using my BBB for about a month, and today I needed to use
it again. But when I tried to SSH to it, I failed many times. (Could not
even send pings) I restarted many times, tried 2 different SD cards, (just
to check if the board works normally) and finally I could ssh to it.
However the problem is I cannot ssh into my old user acc, which have all my
codes, configurations, libraries etc, and I am not sure whether it is still
on SD card. But my guess is I cannot boot from SD card and all those stuff
are stored in the SD Card? Here is the situation:

While trying to make it work as I said I tried different SD cards, both of
them have a user named debian with the same password. Then I noticed that
when I plugged SD Card #1, created new folder, unplugged it, and then
inserted SD Card #2, newly created folders still exist. I rebooted the
device many times, and it was still there, nothing changed. Then I tried an
extreme case, I changed the root password when SD Card #1 is plugged, then
took it off and inserted SD Card #2, and its password was changed as well.
So my guess is that I am currently not able to boot from the SD card. I
only make changes on eMMC, and the image that is flashed on.

What I might be doing wrong? How can I boot from SD card? (I guess it is
not required to press the boot button anymore, but I even tried that.) I
really need to login to that user acc as soon as possible a lot of work is
waiting for me so any kind of help will be so important. :)

Kind Regards,
Frank
