The other issue with that setup, the wifi antenna is really close to the
HDMI interface..

From: /boot/uEnv.txt

Either disable both the hdmi & emmc via:

dtb=am335x-boneblack-overlay.dtb

Or just disable the hdmi via:

dtb=am335x-boneblack-emmc-overlay.dtb
