It's confusing. All I really need to know is *if* I want use overlays, where do they go, and I believe you just answered my question. Which is pretty much exactly like upgrading from 3.8.x( for me ), except /lib/firmware needs to be created. Debian's "Firmware" page seemed to indicate that also, but you know how doc's can be sometimes.
