Hi, I have a USB-powered portable hard drive which I've connected to the BBB via a powered USB hub. The hub can supposedly supply 2.5 A, which I think should be enough. The light on the drive comes on, but debian on the BBB does not create a device for it or try to mount it. That is, there is no /dev/sda or anything similar. lsusb shows only:
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub dmesg shows multiple errors like: 56.727916] hub 1-0:1.0: port 1 not reset yet, waiting 200ms [ 56.931012] hub 1-0:1.0: port 1 not reset yet, waiting 200ms [ 57.134166] hub 1-0:1.0: port 1 not reset yet, waiting 200ms [ 57.337258] hub 1-0:1.0: port 1 not reset yet, waiting 200ms [ 57.337303] hub 1-0:1.0: port_wait_reset: err = -16 [ 57.337341] hub 1-0:1.0: port 1 not enabled, trying reset again... [ 57.337376] hub 1-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad? I was able to mount the drive on a laptop through the same hub. I had previously used the BBB's USB port to connect a keyboard and a mouse through a USB-powered hub. Any advice would be much appreciated.
