The key missing piece is the production volume which is the one of the principal determining factors in the cost. You, and others, are being disingenuous when you say "go build your own". You know that will not be economically viable for most users, commercial or otherwise. The BBB is what it is because of the production volume. Without that it is nothing more than another nice design.
