Hi, now I am confused because I thought it was normal procedure to hold the power button after inserting the 5V jack. (as noted by Richard-tx)
I always have to hold the power button after inserting the jack. When I insert the jack, I see a brief blue light from the pwr LED next to the 5V connector and then nothing. If I hold the power button it boots. - every time. Booting the Board As soon as the power is applied to the board, it will start the booting up process. When the board starts to boot the LEDs will come on in sequence as shown in Figure 15 below. It will take a few seconds for the status LEDs to come on, so be patient. The LEDs will be flashing in an erratic manner as it boots the Linux kernel.
