Oops.

At first, I thought it might have something to do with my specific color 
schemes as a number of them are rather old, but even though it was *right 
at the top of the release notes *(*Note to self: reading is important*) it 
simply didn't register that this was enabled by default.

I think you'll find the answer in the change notes. These are accessible 
via the Help menu.
