Hi All,
One thing I learned while working in the graphics/design world, is:
The Final Design is Correct - because the Designer says so!
It's an artists work, and like any other art, you can think of it as
you like, but it's done and is not to be changed.
So, flame away, change it on your system - do what you like, but the
official icon for BBEdit is as it is when you download it because an
artist has decided it to be so.
May you all have a great weekend, code folding and all... ;-)

The icon shape (a diamond centered in a rectangle) is inherently
perpendicular, and looks bad when slanted, especially at small sizes.
That's probably why the 32x32 and smaller sizes are not slanted, but
unfortunately the Dock only uses the 128x128 size and scales it down.
(No 256x256 or 512x512 sizes? ICNS Browser doesn't show them,
anyway.) It's also disappointing that the 16x16 size has no letter
"B" in it at all. Finally, the blue is also a bit too saturated. I
know, I know, everyone's a critic. But this marks the second (or is
it the third?) major release where I will be copying a custom app icon
file into the BBEdit bundle every single time I download a new minor
release. It's a bummer.
