Hi, I would like to know if it's possible to have a job write multiple copies of the same data to 3 different tapes (for redundant backups). In the user manual, Chapter 29: Migration and Copy seems to offer the functionality we're looking for (especially, because the file metadata is not written to the catalog again for the copies).
However, we would like the copies to be written from the data on the disk, rather than doing tape to tape copying, because we have a limited number of tape drives, and a fast disk. Note: we are doing long term video archiving, where the data is moved to a staging disk before we write it to tape, so the files would not change in between writing the 3 copies (if we write them sequentially) I also see that in the Job configuration options, there is a "Run" parameter, which lets me clone the job, and override the storage device to achieve what we want. My questions are: 1. When using job cloning (with run parameter), can we avoid the file metadata being written to the catalog again - in exactly the same way that happens for copy & migration jobs? 2. With the job cloning, how would I specify that these are copies? Should I use pools for this (Copy1 pool, copy2 pool, copy3 pool)? 3. When using the copy & migration method, do the tape copies have a pool?
