Hello.

I am new to bacula and thus have some questions how to work with it. I am
plannig to use Bacula to backup just one partition on the same Machine. This
partition is the data partition of a owncloud server. Actually bacula will be
used as a safeguard mechanism, for example in case somebody delets a file by
mistake. Its not about failure safety, therefore I use RAID. I have a maximum
of 4TB data in owncloud and 8TB for the backup. A full backup will take maximum
4 hours, so this wont be a problem. which backup strategy makes sense? Since I
use RAID, shouldn't I just make, lets say, a weekly full backup and hourly
incremental backupsand no differential backup? Does it make sense, to have a
pool with volumes for the full backup and retention times such that enough
space for the full backups is guaranted? Can I force this behavior by just
setting the volume retention for the fullBackupPool to 7 days and job retention
and file retention something less than 7 days? How can I force bacula to
behave somehow flexible when running increemntal backups? If needed bacula
should be allowed to use a volume after, for example, an hour. But if possible,
bacula should use the "oldest" volume. Does baculas automatic volume recycling
work like this, when I just set job retention and file retention to zero? How
about using just one big volume for incremental backup and one for full backup?
Hope somebody can help me and answer my questions.

regards
