1. Yes. It's ok. 2. the bacula will do this for you. When you try to do restore, if the media has already recycled the bacula will get files from copy. What type of disaster you want to protect? If the boths tape drives was located in the same site you will not able do use it in fire or water incident. But, if the tapes are stored off-site you will able to recreate catalog with bscan with success. Some informations cannot be recreated with bscan, but probably all you need will be available on catalog.
