Our catalog is around 16GB and at times I have seen mysql been slow. I am using Mysql 5.0.77. Is there any easy way to migrate from Mysql to Postgres?

As long as your catalog doesn't get huge, it won't make much of a difference if you're using MySQL or Postgresql. If it does gets huge tho it seems a MySQL database needs quite a bit more tweaking to get good performance because the queries aren't really optimal for it.
