Since I am new to the world of tape, I don't know all of the correct terms so will try to explain.
My changer has built in, the capabilities to be seen as multiple storage units by allowing the user to partition the unit to suit his/her needs. In other words, I can subdivide the machine into multiple libraries for use with different SCSI hosts. A host would have one or more drives along with one or more magazines and could be used as one drive or multiple drives. Anyhow, my question is, rather than dividing the changer into multiple resources, it would be much better if bacula could be given access to various resources within the unit and maintain those on it's own. So for example, I might give bacula a configuration called backup1, which is made up of 1 drive and a specific number of slots. It would know that when it is working with backup1 that it has those resources and nothing more. Then I might create another called backup2, again, assign a drive or more and slots. Is this something I will be able to do once I get this up and running? Mike ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
