Maybe I am missing some important point, but by now I can't see any mayor
benefits of your solution compared with:
# /usr/local/sbin/generate-dir-config > /etc/bacula/bacula-dir.conf &&
bacula-dir -c /etc/bacula/bacula-dir.conf
