Committing spooled data to volume is the process of writing the spooled
date onto tape. From the spool file to the tape drive.
Sending spooled attributes is the process of sending the metadata to the
director for it to put it into the catalog.

That might indicate a slow database. It usually does, I'd say. Which
database do you use? SQLite is known to be rather slow, PostgreSQL and
MySQL can be slow but can be tweaked to be faster. Either by changing
the database server configuration, or by adding, removing or modifying
table indexes as you need them.
