This is good advice. It avoids the possibility of having an unreadable tape.
If you can repeat the exact conditions underwhich this happens, it would be
worth a bug report so I can duplicate it and hence fix it. The same or a
similar problem seems to be happening to Arno on 1.37.38, so evidently there
is still some race condition or other problem that I am not aware of ... :-(
