Hi there!
Sorry for the second post---i posted once during the weekend...seems like 
ppl were out of the office(s) etc...did not get any response--this would 
be the final one :-)

here's the thing

somehow we missed our recycling of volumes date by 2 days...
it was needed that we intervene and append a new volume or purge an old
one so that backup could proceed...

one of our sysadmins dediced to restart the box in the mean time...

we were left with a backup job having a status R ---- which A.F.A.I.K
means that the job is running---however whenever I tried to 'cancel' the
job i was getting notification that there were no running jobs.


what's the easiest way, with lesser side-effect to get rid of 'stale'
jobs???


i've been searching/googling but to no avail
