Hi Kern. I'm using version 3.0.3. The crash is while running Copy Jobs most of the time, although it has happened during a VirtualFull backup once before too. There are no jobs being canceled at the time. It is a random crash, as sometimes many Copy Jobs complete before it finally falls over. The log of the last error is fairly basic. The last comment is about forward spacing the tape to read from before presenting an error 17 seconds later: 29-Nov 14:00 vc-dir JobId 373: The following 1 JobId was chosen to be copied: 354 29-Nov 14:00 vc-dir JobId 373: Copying using JobId=354 Job=BackupMail.2009-11-27_22.15.00_53 29-Nov 14:00 vc-dir JobId 373: Bootstrap records written to /var/lib/bacula/vc-dir.restore.17.bsr 29-Nov 23:19 vc-dir JobId 373: Start Copying JobId 373, Job=OffsiteBackup.2009-11-29_14.00.00_14 29-Nov 23:19 vc-dir JobId 373: Using Device "Drive-0" 29-Nov 23:20 vc-sd JobId 373: Ready to read from volume "000016L3" on device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst1). 29-Nov 23:20 vc-sd JobId 373: Forward spacing Volume "000016L3" to file:block 86:0. 29-Nov 23:37 vc-dir JobId 373: Error: Bacula vc-dir 3.0.3 (18Oct09): 29-Nov-2009 23:37:11 Build OS: i486-pc-linux-gnu debian squeeze/sid Prev Backup JobId: 354 Prev Backup Job: BackupMail.2009-11-27_22.15.00_53 New Backup JobId: 374 Current JobId: 373 Current Job: OffsiteBackup.2009-11-29_14.00.00_14 Backup Level: Full Client: vc-fd FileSet: "LinuxSet" 2009-10-27 18:10:06 Read Pool: "FullPool" (From Job resource) Read Storage: "TL2000-Drive-1" (From Pool resource) Write Pool: "CopyPool" (From Job Pool's NextPool resource) Write Storage: "TL2000-Drive-0" (From Storage from Pool's NextPool resource) Catalog: "MyCatalog" (From Client resource) Start time: 29-Nov-2009 23:19:05 End time: 29-Nov-2009 23:37:11 Elapsed time: 18 mins 6 secs Priority: 10 SD Files Written: 0 SD Bytes Written: 0 (0 B) Rate: 0.0 KB/s Volume name(s): 000018L3 Volume Session Id: 123 Volume Session Time: 1258521062 Last Volume Bytes: 369,888,777,216 (369.8 GB) SD Errors: 0 SD termination status: Error Termination: *** Copying Error *** Regards, ---------- Jim Barber DDI Health ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
