I believe I remember someone getting around this behavior by heavy modification of the mtx-changer and also having mtx-changer query the bacula database. I can not find the solution however. A second option is the autochanger may have an option for output. And a third option would be to investigate this issue with the writers of mtx perhaps there is new mtx that better works with your changer.
