Yes, it would resolve to an ipv4 The results for running BackupPC_dump as the backuppc user Failed: http://pastebin.com/j8swGMPV After adding user to the /etc/hosts Success: http://pastebin.com/TT55ZGMs Just as a note, backuppc was originally installed via apt, I didn't have time to figure out my apache setup again so just did the over-the-top install BackupPC 4.0 with some minor changes to file locations, init scripts. If this proves to make a difference, I'll have to review it over the weekend. For us, this server is only for catastrophic recovery only and I can start from scratch if need be.
