Taking responsibility for my own mistakes, Les Mikesell didn't write
the following, I did.

" > I have the missing "c" also, but there's only 34 or so errors

I get exactly 34 errors (I think it can vary by a few one way or the
other) like the following. Do I read your log correctly that you
are also getting exactly 34 errors? Curious, if so.:

Remote[1]: rsync: send_files failed to open
"ygdrive/c/WINNT/system32/C:/WINNT/system32/config/SAM" (in c-drive): Device or
resource busy (16)

but they all conclude with something like this (I don't know what
the (16) means).

Device or resource busy (16)

Wouldn't that be the reason for the errors? If so, then I wouldn't
expect changing the path notation to have much effect. Am I wrong?

" I am now a little bit further:
"
" Reading the source (rsyncd.conf):
" #
" # Allow rsync to change the root directory to the module location
" # upon connection of a client. This is disabled for Win32 as we do
" # not provide a full Cygwin environment.
" #
" and my own email:
" " I don't know if it matters, but I also use/have installed cygwin.
" "
"
" so I changed chroot to yes and modified my shareas as follows:
"
" [cDrive]
" # path = c:

fwiw,

path = C:

is what I have in my rsycd.conf but, as I said, I don't understand
why that would matter if the problem just is that win2k has the file
open.

Perhaps we are seeing different problems with nearly identical
symptoms?
