Hi Travis,

An interesting question...

As mentioned, I've set C:\ to be shareable and, since BackupPC has
backed up some of the top level directories this is OK.

However since Program Files files isn't being backed up, its sharing is
set wrong. The General Properties tab for Program Files have
"read-only" checked and the Advanced Properties tab includes the statement

All options on this tab are disabled because this folder is used
   by the operating system.

So the permissions appear to be unchangeable. The question becomes,
"How does BackupPC _ever_ deal with Program Files?"

With regards to user directories such as "My Documents", one _could_
make the directory sharable. This doesn't seem to be the right thing
to do.

Are you using BackupPC with windows? Are you using smb or another
access method, i.e. rsync?

Thanks..

David
