I noticed that Windows (2003) can't uncompress ZIP files created by BackupPC (created with "Restore selected files" -> "Download Zip file").
What happens, is that all files in such archives have 0 bytes size. It does not happen for all archives; only for those bigger (30 MB with plenty of files/directories or so). I can uncompress such archives in Linux just fine (using unzip 5.52). Still, there are problems uncompressing such files from mc (midnight commander) - uncompressed files have size of 0 bytes. When I use the "file" command, it shows a probable reason (archive version): 1) archive created with a standard zip command; uncompresses just fine on Windows: archiv.zip: Zip archive data, at least v1.0 to extract 2) archive created with BackupPC; problems with uncompressing on Windows: restore.zip: Zip archive data, at least v2.0 to extract I found only one reference on the group to a similar problem.
