I use ubuntu, I have got installed this:
libarchive-tar-perl - Archive::Tar - manipulate tar files in perl
libcompress-zlib-perl - Perl module for creation and manipulation of 
gzip files
libio-zlib-perl - IO:: style interface to Compress::Zlib
