Problem cause identified -- user misconfiguration error :-<

As part of reinstalling Gentoo the /etc/hosts file of machine A had an
entry with machine B's IP address where it should have had machine A's
IP address. This caused BackupPC's ssh command to backup machine A to
run rsync on machine B. I don't know why /etc/hosts had the bad entry
but I must have mucked up somewhere along the line.

Anyhow, now all is good and BackupPC is now able to do its job.

Thanks for your help Craig.

Regards,

David
