Craig, Thanks for the quick reply. No, I'm not prompted for a login or password at all.
I also noticed in the LOG file under /backups/pc/linuxpc the following message: Can't find host linuxpc via netbios. My real hostname is dtwconsulting.dnsalias.com but prior to this I've always had an alias called linuxpc in my /etc/hosts file to refer to this host, and it's always worked in the past. So now I'm more confused. I'd really like to get backuppc back up and working correctly so that I can restore and also start running backups again, it's now almost 3 weeks without a backup :( How can I check the apache authentication ? Like I said, this time around I did the install via the Mandriva 2007 package installer, figuring that would be easier (!) and save me time. I'd appreciate any further help you can provide. TIA. ________________________________________ Dave Williams > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: RE: [BackupPC-users] Config for Mandriva 2007 - Urgent Help > From: "Craig Barratt" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Fri, November 24, 2006 5:06 pm > To: "David Williams (DTW Consulting)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > It sounds like your apache authentication is not setup properly.
