I think it is an excellent point. There is a very fine line to walk, though, to not make the interface look too cheap with attribution logos plastered left and right. So I am all for adding specific API for this if we can find some way to integrate it gracefully in the UI. So designers and graphics enthusiasts - ideas most welcome! I think it would be very helpful if you could write a simple list of examples of the different forms of attributions you have encountered. That would help both the API and graphics considerations.
