But the window X button *always* was "close this window" and not "exit the application". I'm a bit surprised that this question/annoyance comes up more frequently now, may indeed have something to do with the app indicator work. For example, in Gimp I do not expect the application to close if I close one of the toolboxes with the X. Neither to I expect Tomboy to exit if I click the X of one of its notes. And so on. It seems that there is an implicit assumption that the X exits the app if the app has only one window, which, for some apps like music players, does not hold true. FWIW, *I* absolutely despise it when clicking the minimize button does not minimize the app to the task bar, because that's what *I* expect it to do. To me, it breaks consistency if some apps can be found on the task bar after minimizing, and others cannot. To me, the "X closes the windows (and if the app continues to run without a window, it does so in the tray)" is much more consistent and logical. Goes to show how different tastes and expectations are .... _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ayatana Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ayatana More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
