Doing this in aclocal *right now* would be trivial, and then it would just be a matter of updating the Autoconf documentation to state that AC_CONFIG_MACRO_DIR can accept several whitespace-separated arguments (that's because AC_CONFIG_MACRO_DIR expands to nothing and has no side effects -- it's only there to be traced by other tools like aclocal and autoroconf, as stated in the autoconf documentation).
