Yes, but you explained that it was because those patches would require
quite an extensive testing on different platforms/shells, and this
can't be currently provided by the Automake community. Anyway, if the
situation will change and you'll start planning to apply them, please
let me know, because they are now in a dire need of a rebasing and a
fair amount of tweaking/amending.

You mean the `check-list-of-tests' stuff, right? I remember this was a
more controversial issue, and the discussion regarding it sorta faded
away. Let me know if you want to resume it (when and if you'll have
more time, of course).
