Request #48286 has been Rejected by yan12125 [1]: I'm not sure if tea4cups-py3-git is a good merge target, as its repo sees no activity since the fork in 2020 [1]. I suggest to keep tea4cups-svn until there is a consensus.
Also, the upstream website and SVN server are back. Regarding the Python 2 issue: there are some alternative ways to solve it, like borrowing patches from Debian [2].
