Former maintainer disowned this, indicating no objection to the deletion.

Upstream seems to no longer publish beta versions, only stable releases and 
(infrequently) release candidates.

There's an AUR/go-dev package, which, although currently unmaintained, could be 
the PKGBUILD that offers RC tag updates when they get pushed. I will give 
feedback on that AUR page about this.

Safe to delete this obsolete 'beta' package.
