In my (limited) experience, moderator's approval can take up to a week or more.
And meanwhile, discussions go on, decisions get taken, and TU's and community members who are not directly addressed in To/CC/BCC do not see your responses in a timely manner. So I would still recommend that you subscribe. You can set your preferences, e.g. to not receive every individual email not addressed to you.
