Hello everyone,
Hi George!
Hello Bert!
As of now, my primary duties in the
archlinuxcn community include creating/maintaining Arch Linux
packages and
translating Arch Wiki articles:

I'm not overly familiar with the archlinux cn structure, could you
perhaps highlight some of the packages you maintain that you think
reflect your skills as a packager?
Here are some archlinuxcn packages I am actively maintaining:
- video2x:
https://github.com/archlinuxcn/repo/blob/master/archlinuxcn/video2x/PKGBUILD
- pacfiles:
https://github.com/archlinuxcn/repo/blob/master/archlinuxcn/pacfiles/PKGBUILD
(This package is automatically synced with aur/pacfiles by lilac, which
is the build bot for archlinuxcn; Therefore, `export
RUSTUP_TOOLCHAIN=stable` and `export CARGO_TARGET_DIR=target` cannot be
omitted)
- parallel-disk-usage-git:
https://github.com/archlinuxcn/repo/blob/master/archlinuxcn/parallel-disk-usage-git/PKGBUILD
- clapgrep:
https://github.com/archlinuxcn/repo/blob/master/archlinuxcn/clapgrep/PKGBUILD
(automatically synced with aur/clapgrep)
- xcp:
https://github.com/archlinuxcn/repo/blob/master/archlinuxcn/xcp/PKGBUILD
Here are some AUR packages I maintain:
- https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/qefientrymanager-git
- https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/linux-apfs-rw-dkms
- https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/caligula-git
- https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/clapgrep
- https://aur.archlinux.org/tunet-rust
A nice line-up. I couldn't find anything concretely to comment on,
other than that the checksums for clapgrep appear out-of-date.
Okay, I've just updated the checksums of clapgrep.
If my application is approved, I would like to add these packages
into
[extra]:
- clapgrep
- cpr
- ctre
- dissent
- flyctl
These packages appear to have a fairly small audience, or be libraries
without direct dependents. What made you choose these packages? The
guidelines for adoption into [extra], for reference, are generally 10
votes, though as a package maintainer you can use your own judgment to
deviate from that.
`clapgrep` is a GUI tool to search through files, which has 123 stars on
GitHub. Apart from AUR, it is only available in nixpkgs. Maybe it is not
popular enough to adopt it into [extra].
`cpr` is required by 11 AUR packages, and is also available in the
official repository of various distributions, including but not limited
to Fedora, Debian sid and nixpkgs, which can be referred at
https://repology.org/project/cpr/versions.
`ctre` is required by archlinuxcn/qcm & archlinuxcn/qcm-git. I've just
checked the AUR, it seems that no packages depend on it. It seems that
adopting `ctre` into [extra] is not a wise choice.
`dissent` is a popular third-party native Discord app, which has 1.4k
stars on GitHub. It is available in Alpine Linux Edge (testing), nixpkgs
and Homebrew.
`flyctl` is a command line tool for fly.io services, which has 1.5k
stars on GitHub. It is available in nixpkgs and Homebrew.
Additionally, I am also willing to co-maintain the following
packages:
- yazi
- bcachefs-tools
Always good to have more maintainers. From the packages you've
selected, you appear to be a bit of a rustacean. Do I know you from
that space, by any chance?
Although I am a Rustacean, I am still a Rust novice :)
Thanks for reading my application!
Good luck with the proceedings!
Bert.
Thanks for replying my application!
Sincerely,
George Hu (Integral)
