im curious, did you get /var/lib/plymouth/boot-duration to work ?
in my tests this file is never written and therefore no progress-bar
in plymouth themes will ever be correct. as it reads the times of last
boot from this file and sets the progress-bars accordingly...
I have a progress bar but I've bug, a warning message appear (glib) and
break plymouth a few second before slim apparition.
