Since release-1.0 is the old/frozen and likely the sole exception in API layout comparing to other branches, it would be better to use "#ifdef ANDROID_RELEASE_1" to make an exception for it. Master branch is Android's Head branch and other branches will be based on it so soon "ifdef ANDROID_MASTER_BRANCH" will become not accurately because we want to be able to work with other newer branches too.

Where is the logic to detect and set "ANDROID_MASTER_BRANCH"? Does Android's own header(s) set the version value?

Did you get the audio (outside helix dna) working on OMAP ZOOM?
