Hello,

In order to specify a master file, I'm using local variables. That is:
I have (setq-default TeX-master nil) in my xemacs init file, and

%%% Local Variables:
%%% mode: latex
%%% TeX-master: "hdr"
%%% End:

at the end of the child files. When I open the file and check the
value of TeX-master variable (M-? v), the value is nil.
I tried to create a new document. I was promted to set the TeX-master
value. Entered "hdr". The local values were inserted just as I did
by hand in the old file (example above).
Checked the value of TeX-master variable, the value was hdr.
Closed the file and opened it again, and the variable value was reset
to nil. I have the same behaviour when I execute (setq TeX-master
"hdr") from the minibuffer. The variable is set to the right value
until I close the file.
It looks like my local variable is invisible for Auctex when it parses
the file.
Any clue? I miss this multifile feature that I used to work with in
earlier versions of xemacs/auctex.

Thanks,

Dominique
