Indeed, I’ve only been a witness to the discussion in a few venues, so I can’t pass judgement about the big picture. I have to take your word for it. However, with regard to the part of the picture in which I did participate, I will go on record to say that you almost never made it easy for me to consider your position on an issue on which I was trying to make up my mind when held a strong opinion about it. And that’s not for lack of willingness on my part, nor is it because your positions have been unreasonable. I often wished you’d argue your case better.
