Maybe try a version of redhat that was
released in the past 5 years? Seriously, why do you require RH7.3 over Fedora
or even RH 9?

problem on last CVS
from the CVS of the 2005/05/14 it's impossible to build
asterisk* on a redhat 7.3
i get this at compile time
