DNIS is dialed number identification service. With toll free services, the carrier will send DNIS digits (to your PBX) to identify which toll free number was called. The DNIS sent from the network to your PBX may be 4 digits long for example. I suspect that you will need to build an extension matching whatever DNIS they are going to send to your PBX when the toll free number is dialed. I'm guessing that is what they were trying to explain.
-----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thu, May 5, 2005 6:19 pm Hi I have applied for Qwest 1800 termination to a T1 ISDN PRI. They tell me that I will have to program a predefined DNIS number on my switch. According to them unless asterisk returns that DNIS number no call will get through. How do I program the DNIS, is it through zaptel.conf or some other way. Is it required??. As per qwest "if the 8xx # is going to be routing to an ISDN TG, DNIS is required". Will appreciate any help Regards _______________________________________________ Asterisk-Users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users _______________________________________________ Asterisk-Users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
