Dean,
I appreciate the suggestion. Is it really necessary.
I've got slackware already installed on the box. (I consider myself a bit of a Linux guru.), all the drivers, and Asterisk. Everything seems to work fine, EXCEPT getting it to talk to the extension. wouldn't it be easier/faster to just adjust a few settings than to re-initialize my entire box.

If you are only new to asterisk go and download [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://asteriskathome.sourceforge.net
It's a iso you can download that does all of the configuring and setup for you automatically.
Cheers

Hi,
I'm just setting up my first Asterisk box. So far everything is working
fine. I have the digium card in and connected to a regular telco line.
The Asterisk box answers the line and goes through the demo voicemail functions. Sounds great!
I bought a Polylcom ip500 phone. I can't seem to get it to "register" with the Asterisk box. Can anybody give me some clues as to:
1) What settings I need in the sip.conf file.
2) What settings I need in the Polycom phone.
Thanks a million!!
