I thought the same thing. It was so consistent that it seemed like it almost _had_ to be a TIFF library issue. But I removed the other versions while I was testing each version (3.6.1, 3.6.0, 3.5.7, and 3.7.1; in that order). Plus, I ran "ldd" against the app_?xfax.so libraries and made sure they were linking with the right library. So I am 100% sure that I was not just using the same TIFF library.
