Another data point for ya,

Installed a NetGear GS724T at a site just today. Got it for about $650
from buy.com. 24-port gig, 2 mini GBIC, trunking, tagging, vlans,
mirroring, web management, QOS, SNMP, etc. It's not a "managaged" switch
as it's lacking enterprises level stuff like multi-user account
capabilities, and other things that are *really* nice in a large
enterprises but this installation was a small office where one switch is
all they need.

As for reliability, It's been Nortel behind them for a few years now like
Cisco is now behind Linksys. Used other Netgear stuff in onther places
without any issues.

Paul

PS: The comparable dell ran about $800.
